Easy, search for disk management on windows 11. Open it. Or search for "create and format hard disk partitions" in the control panel.
With windows Disk Management open, and your external ssd drive connected to laptop, select your external ssd drive, right click it, and select format
Change file system from exFat to NTFS.
Select DEFAULT for allocation size.
Make sure "perform a quick format" is TICKED.
Make sure "enable file and folder compression" is UNTICKED.
Click OK.
Thats it, your drive is now ready to have ISTA installed onto it using a standalone installer. Simply change the destination of the installation folder to your external SSD.
Ive just done this on a samsung 1TB ssd drive, connected to i7 laptop with thunderbolt 4 usb. It loads up FAST.
Will try this out on a micro sd card when i get time, have a feeling it will still work.
