Winter Tire Recommendation

Hey everyone,

So I currently run two sets of tires on my 05 M3. Great set of P4S in the summer..but what I'm currently using for my winter tires is not great. It's good all seasons in the back and older summer tires in the front. My intuition is that this is probably not the best idea, but what do you all think? I'm trying to replace my winter set. Any recommendations for a good tire that I could run October-March? Thanks

Just bought two sets of Nokians (R3 is the current model, R2 is discontinued).

From what I researched, these are the best non-studded winter tires money can buy. Now just waiting for a blizzard to really test them out. :)

Thanks everyone
Generally speaking, is it alright to run winter or snow tires even if it's not too cold or snowy? That's the only reason I would do all seasons over real winter tires for my "winter setup." I've just read a bit that driving on (softer) winter tires can wear them out really fast if it's not cold or snowy outside.

Yes you are correct R3 is the most recent model. I had R2 225/45/17 in my previous 325i. Those were great.

Yes, it is totally fine drive with real winter tyres, but you should change summer tyres in springtime when tempeature is over +8 celsius.

Our winter stays all the time under 0 celsius so i dont have to worry about too hot weather in wintertime :D

I have perelli sottozero 3. They have done way better than my Dunlop. Couple advantages to these. The tire compound is meant to be as soft and sticky in colder Temps as summer tires are in warm Temps.

Another plus is they have a cushioning layer inside the tire which makes the ride amazing. Not just for a snow tire but amazing for any tire. This has been a big help as potholes are very hard to see when covered in snow. I am very happy with my them
