NCS Expert Cable Recommendation

I'm thinking I'll go ahead and purchase a cable for NCSExpert so that I can code my car for the Removeable Hardtop option. Just want to confirm two things first:

1. Confirmation that this is the cable I need.
2. Is the software a free download? Is there a link?

I'm assuming the software will work on a Windows 10 laptop.

Thanks in advance.

You want a K+DCAN usb cable for INPA and NCS. I believe the yellow cable you posted is for newer F series bimmers and ISTA software?..

I got mine off eBay for $20 shipped. It's the model without the switch and I needed to bridge two pins. I believe the ones with switches don't need the solder bridge, but I'm sure someone else will chime in on that front.

Here's a switched one on amazon for $25

If you want to go mcfrugal and are ok doing a little soldering to bridge the pins if needed, check this out.

This.

You need a k+dean cable (USB to OBD2 port). Do NOT use whatever software comes with the cable.

Follow the BMW Standard Tools Installation guide below from the Important Links thread.
