After searching for over 12 months, I finally found a 6MT E46 M3 with very low mileage. Once all the formalities were finalised, the car was transported from Darwin to Perth. By early March 2015 I had the car inspected for roadworthinessand paid registration/insurance.

My baby was 100% stock when purchased, and best of all, she only had 50,000KM!

-2004 6-speed manual
-Carbon Schwarz Metallic
-Kiwi leather
-19" Style 67 alloy wheels
-Sunroof
-50,000KM :thumbsup:

The very first job was detailing the car inside & out. Travelling from Darwin to Perth via open-top transport meant the car was absolutely filthy when I picked it up. It was covered in red "desert" dust. Took me few days, however she turned out perfect after an extensive detail. So far I have only waxed the paint once. No need to do it again anytime soon as the paint is immaculate.

Next thing was a service; engine oil/filter, gearbox & differential oils, spark plugs, cooling system flush, air filter replacement, etc. Amazing how much smoother the engine runs after a major service.

In the last few months I have performed a few subtle mods;
-Megan Racing axle back muffler (http://forum.e46fanatics.com/showthread.php?t=899156&page=6)
-CSL replicas 19x8.5 +45 front & 19x10 +25 rear
-Matte black front & side grilles
-Auxiliary cable install
-Angel eyes (being installed tonight)

Future mods;
-H&R or Eibach lowering springs
-Carbon fibre front lip
-CSL carbon fibre rear diffuser
-Replica CSL intake (maybe)

Here are some photos. Enjoy! :)

Looks way better with the CSL reps in my opinion. Nice M3!

Thank you! I like the CSL reps. I may get some 10MM spacers for the front and rear so the wheels sit flush on the guards :)

love that color if im not wrong that is carbon black...like my ride drive her well
bob :woot::woot:
It might be Carbon Black for your guys? There is a sticker in my engine bay that says "BMW-CARBONSCHWARZ METALLIC".

Thanks :)

Mounted and wired up my China-spec CCFL angel eyes Friday evening. Very easy to do! THe ballast and wirining is all taped up and mounted securely behind each headlight. Took me approx. 2 hours.

Awesome! Love the CFCL's. Are they wired up as your DRL's now?

Haven't taken any since I've owned the car, but here are the pics the previous owner sent me (approx 6 months ago).

Also serviced her on the weekend. Genuine oil filter, Liqui-Moly Race-Tech 10w-60 and Bosch YR6LDE spark plugs. Runs a lot smoother with the new plugs. Old plugs have not been changed since brand new (11 years & 58,000KM).

Few pics from a month ago. Nice and clean!

Did some ECU coding last weekend:

-Manual shift lights
-Raised rev limit to 8100 rpm
-Sport button memory
-Dyno mode enabled
-Pop/burble on overrun

I've ordered a the following from Status Gruppe:

-Section 1 "Rasp Eliminator" with O2/EGT bungs. I won't be running cats as my M3 is Euro spec

http://www.statusgruppe.com/collections/2001-06-bmw-e46-m3/products/bmw-e46-m3-section-1-rasp-pipe

-Section 2 un-resonated 3" X-pipe

http://www.statusgruppe.com/collections/2001-06-bmw-e46-m3/products/e46-m3-x-pipe

I ordered it about 4 weeks ago. Waiting for Section 1 to be made and it should arrive down-under in about 2 weeks. Can't wait to hear how she'll scream with this new setup and how many extra ponies she'll push without the cats!

Yesterday my Status Gruppe Tunning Exhaust arrived. Section 1 "rasp-elminator" (replaces my section 1 cats) and Section 2 un-resonated x-pipe. I did order the Section 1 with bungs for the O2 & EGT sensors, however they sent me the wrong part, so I'll weld in bungs for the sensors in due course. I would send it back for the correct part, but being half way around the world, I can not be bothered waiting another 4 weeks.

I removed the stock section 1 & 2 last night and replaced it with the new parts. Everything lines up without an issue. The rubber hangars/mounts at the front of section 2 needed a little massaging with a hammer, however everything else fit perfectly.

Given section 1 doesn't have the bungs, for the time being I'm running no post-cat O2 sensors or the EGT sensor. She idles and drives exactly as before. No CEL yet, however when it appears, I'll have a friend code the ECU and remove the CEL re no post-cat O2 sensors. Also going to code the ECU and remove the "cold-start" function.

I took it for a good 30 minute drive with the new exhaust set-up. On idle, it's not much louder, however under anything more than 1/3 acceleration, it's A LOT louder. Under WOT, it really screams loud. There is still a small amount of metallic rasp present from 2500-3500 rpm; above that it's a real deep & "barky" tone. Just the sound I was after. I may have a resonator welded into the x-pipe to quiet it down a little, but I'm ok with it at the moment.

Just need to be careful where I put my foot down!

I also had a friend code my car about a month back. I now have the SMG-style shift lights for my 6MT, sport-button memory & the "pop/burble on overrun" feature.

GoPro video to follow in the coming days :)

Also, no cracks in my subframe!

Next up is an Eibach Pro Kit to give it just the right drop :)

The shift lights function in the same way as the SMG shift lights. The lights that go around the RPM can be coded to "light up" when you approach the redline. Google E46 M3 shift lights.

A friend of mine has the coding software & cable. I'm not confident enough in modifying the ecu myself.

Took her on a dyno (Mainline) last Saturday. Best run was 262.2rwhp & 324nm (239ft/lb). These figures will seem a little low for you guys in the US. Our dynos must read a little lower. I know she is making the right power, as she ran a 13.3 1/4 mile when stock!

Also did a track day on Sunday. Plenty of gopro footage, however no movie yet. Will have it done soon :)
