Hi all. Picked this up two Saturdays ago:
It's a March 2002 build and has ~135K on the odo. Paint and leather in excellent condition and absolutely no curb rash on the wheels. Someone took care of it.
It appears to have been a special-order car, since it has no sunroof (love it) and has the H/K stereo and heated seats without the rear seat pass-through or headlight washers. The original owner had perfect taste, IMO. There's not a thing I would change about it.
Replaced the (cracked) windshield and CTABs last week; it drives wonderfully with the exception of the shifter bushings, which are shot (I've gotten 5th when going for 3rd on more than one occasion
).
To do list:
- Pop out the baseball-sized pushed-in area of the bumper on the passenger-side and replace the fender liner in that area.
- Remove the front plate holder and install the appropriate bumper trim.
- Detail the exterior, including Forever Black on the moldings.
- Really clean out the interior. I've Aerospace 303'd the plastic, but the carpets need a good cleaning (I think car was previously owned by a smoker).
- Leatherique the seats.
- Replace the crumbly front cowl plastic piece.
- Replace the cabin air filter.
- Shifter bushings.
- CDV delete if it hasn't already been done.
- Trans and diff fluid change.
- Secure the driver side kidney grille, which is loose.
- Figure out a way to get my iPod to communicate with the factory headunit.
I think that's it for now.
I love driving it. It's faster than my old E34 540i/6 and much more nimble. It has that BMW effortlessness that I've missed.
Cheers!
