So heres the link for the kit. When i swap in my 3.0L soon i was thinking maybe in a year or two installing a turbo (myself). Is this any good you guys think? Or is there a better kit out there for not much more? Im not looking for a crazy expensive set up, I understand this kit might not be the best quality as far as the turbo potentially. If the tubes, turbo header , intercooler fit right and the welds are good thats all i'm looking for. Also worth mentioning my car is a 04 325ci with a getrag 250g 5speed.My ecu firmware is ms45

I can replace the turbo for a different one if it ever decides to take a poop.

What should I expect for power gains? i'm thinking about 350-375? or am I way off? What parts should be upgraded along with this do you guys think? I replaced the entire cooling system just 2 months ago and was planning on just swapping it right over to the new engine, along with hoses Stewart pump etc.

While I have the 3.0L on the engine stand, i was planning on resealing every single gasket / O ring on the whole engine including the head gasket, along with taking it to get a light surface just incase, potentially a block surface just in case. I plan on doing all this work myself obviously otherwise it wouldn't even be close to worth it. I wrench for fun and im excited to turbo a car for the first time.

Another question I just thought of, where a good place to plug the oil line to the turbo?

Please dont tell me this is dumb or not worth it. I like my car and I think its fun. Thanks in advance you guys are great.

My nephew builds and tunes turbo cars and has said that that "kit" is the most complete he has seen for the e46. He said he would drain to the pan via a fitting that fits the factory drain plug and to tap somewhere by the oil filter housing for the oil feed.
I personally don't know squat about them.
He's also said not to drive it until it has been tuned. Have it towed to a speedshop he said a tune is probably about $1500.00.
Also need to build the exhaust from the downpipe back
Also you need injectors around the 550cc range
Thatll get you close to 425-450hp
Weather you're bottom end can take that idk

While you're at it you should change a few things to run e85 (alcohol) and you'll really push the numbers up safer and cooler
