I just recently installed INPA, NCS Expert, NCS Dummy etc. with all the proper drivers. My issue right now is NCS Expert says my “Vin is faulty.” INPA is able to read my VIN, my thought is maybe I got a faulty cable. I got one of those cables with a button so I can’t tell the state of pins 7 & 8 since there isn’t two states so it’s all trial error when using NCS Expert but no luck.

Yea good question Alex..

I think it was a sum of problems. As I mentioned before, I could not get into e.g. the instrument cluster so I changed the switch position which helped to access it.

Did a complete wipe of all the software (which I got from another user) and reinstalled the software provided by Bali.

After that, made sure that the COM settings showed the same port (1).

Then NCS expert, I created a new (expert) profile and made sure all the checks are checked. I had one box not ticked which resulted in no rewrite of the .TRC file so the coding did not got written over.

If I can find NCS dummy, that would make life easier but that is not a mandatory software to be fair since my German is quite okay and there is a lot of info online about the codings.
