I looking to buy style 68s but I can’t find any on Craigslist or OfferUp in my area, so I wonder if any of y’all have experience buying bmw refurbished wheels on Amazon or eBay and is it worth it?

This is refurbisher of the rims I got.

A year prior, I got one for my wife's Rav4 and just a couple years later it also looks like shit. The clear coat is peeling in numerous areas. The other factory rims from 2003 look better than the 3 year old rim!

I could have used modeling paint and done a better job.

That’s a franchise and i guess results may vary due to location, the body shop i work at has been using them for years and i’ve also had my wheels done with no issues.

Funny they came up actually because i just got this one back from them yesterday

It depends on who did the refurbishment on wheels sold on eBay, Amazon, etc. If its a private seller that did them in his home garage, I'd stay away. If its Wheels America or another large wheel refurb firm, I'd have almost no concerns. I've had 2 previous sets for other cars done by them, and they were indistinguishable from factory new wheels. I believe they were like $85 each or so for the refurb.

Who knows? I've bought several rims from several ePay sellers-
one was OE condition, one was 'as advertised'- a bit beat up, but OK,
and the third had been sanded and hit with some rattlecan paint.
All 3 of them were structurally OK, so I figured I'd done ok on average.

Anyone can sell on ePay.
Or Amazon.
Do you feel lucky?

When I bought my Cabriolet five years ago, it had wheels on that were vomit inducing. Changing them was my first order of business. I decided on a staggered set of BMW Style 286's. I bought all four on EBay. Two were NIB, two were refinished. Five years on and they still look like I just pulled them out of the box. I honestly cannot tell or remember which were new and which were refinished. I will add that even though they've been on the car and parked outside for five Portland (OR) years, I've only driven the car about 6700 miles in that time.
