VANOS Question Single or Double?

Sorry for asking a seemingly easy question but I cant figure out the answer still after research. I have a 99 328i and I dont understand whether I have the M54 or M52 engine and whether I need a single or double VANOS seal kit. I looked under the hood but I dont see anything about the engine type. Can anyone shed some light on my situation?

i could be wrong but i think both M54 and M52 have double vanos units..

According to the Beisan website the M52 is single vanos with the M52TU and M54 being double. Im just not sure which I have in my car

use a BMW vin decoder

plug the last 7 digit of your vin and it'll tell you your engine model
