Hey everyone.
Today something a little weird happened. The situation:
I get home, park, foot is on the brake pedal and the car is running. I shut the car off with my foot still on the brake pedal - and I start feeling it pushing hard against my foot, until it feels like there is no vacuum left.
I didn't pump the brake pedal after the car was off, kept my foot in and it just went from being nice and soft to rock solid, exactly like it would feel if I would've pumped the pedal with the engine off.
Took it for a short drive - pedal feels a little off, slightly less travel before it is hard to push, and once, for a very brief moment - brake boosting just disappeared, so there was any braking at all without pressing super hard on the pedal, but it came back as soon as I bliped the throttle.
Could it be just a vacuum leak somewhere, or is the brake booster gone bad?
My car had some weird issue where it would rev on it's own every 2-3 minutes from an idle to 1700rpm, and I kinda feel like that could be a little vacuum leak somewhere, but haven't found it yet.
Any suggestions would be very welcome,
