I've noticed that my left taillights light up much dimmer than my right taillights. The turn signal, brake lights, and red lights all are less bright than the ones on the right? Is it just a weird coincidence with the bulbs or something more serious?

Check the connector in the bulb carrier. It has happened to me in both tail lights. It seems that one of the pin (the center one) gets to hot and gets melted. The symptom is that the turn signal indicator in the instrument panel blinks faster than normal,and eventually you will get an error on the instrument panel. Also the light become dimmer than normal.
I had the same problem, on my left side the lower two lights were dimmer than the right. I never fixed it though because I bought LED tail lights.
