I have a slightly rough idle and "lean condition" codes. I have done just about everyhting I know to do -- except this esoteric DISA valve I see on some threads.

What are the symptoms if that is bad?

Where can I find one? I have searched but it goes by several names and the part numbers are not coming up on some aftermarket sites)

Ha I just figured I'd dig one up instead of clogging the boards. What symptoms were you having?

I'm sitting on a idle hard enough to turn the car off when trying to back out or sitting at red lights. Hear a loud clank noise coming from just left of the box sounding like its inside the upper intake. Have changed plugs, cleaned icv, changed intake boot, reseated dry rotted rubber on hoses to intake boot, Nd scratched my head?!?!

I took the disa off and looked at some diagrams and videos to functions test it and it has failed all the finger tests I can give, (turning inner flap putting my finger over the hole--- flap turns about half way back And makes a clicking noise.-- thinking this is the same noise I'm hearing just after turning on car- but the clicking stops after about 30 secs to a min--- )

Called dealer and they said $293 for disa.

If the DISA flap moves at all without a resistive spring tension then it's knackered. But when my DISA was that way my idle wasn't rough. I'm betting you destroyed the seal when removing it and now you have a vacuum leak. It happens. The DISA seal is only good for about 3 years before it takes a crap when touched. You can also check the F-tubes. The rattling is definitely the DISA though.

FWIW, when i had a really rough idle it was a crapped out CCV, Let your car idle and remove the dipstick. If you hear a wookie, start reading about CCV replacement.

Dumb question but is the CCv the same as vcg? All the videos I'm seeing are associated.
Use the various parts suppliers mentioned here on the board. Shop around for prices. Generally try Tischer, AutohausAZ, TheBMWPartStore, BMAParts, BMWMercesesParts, PelicanParts, ECS Tuning, and one other that I forgot because nothing they had was competitive.

CCV =/= VCG. VCG = valve cover gasket. CCV = oil separator + vacuum flapper thingy.

My post, #7 in the thread, has the correct part number for a 325. I believe you even quoted it :lmao:

Anyway, for a 325 it's 11617544806. 805 is the 330.

Remember when putting it in to get a very thin coating of motor oil on the ring (we're talking VERY thin) to ensure sealing and to really clean the opening beforehand.

You can use either kit - it's really up to you. They both fit, but the cold-climate version is more popular with folks up north in colder-climate areas of the country. But, some folks like the peace-of-mind and order the cold-climate version for the added insulation. If you order today, we'd have to ship the order via UPS 2nd Day Air w/ a Saturday Delivery for ~$40-$50.00.
