I have 2 fault codes on my 200 328i (115K miles). P0441 - Evaporative Emission Control System Malfunction
Purge flow valve and P1580 - Throtte Valve Mechanically Stuck. Also under the Inspection/Maint monitor the following come up as "not ready": Catalyst, Heated Catalyst, Evap System, Sec Air, 02 Sensor, and H02 Sensor.

The car is in limp mode (EML light) and resetting the codes and turning the ignition on/off does not appear to correct the problem. Could i have a bad catalytic converter? What would the symptoms of that be? I have not ever had the O2 sensors replaced? What about the Mass Air Flow sensor? Any thoughts and suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

bonaphydelb, did your problem go away after replacing the throttle body? I have the p1580, check engine light on , EML, limp mode, etc. Dealer scanned engine and came up with this:

DME - (114) 72 Activation, engine throttle (OBDII: P1580;EUIII: P0505) - Electrical fault, engine throttle ---- Currently
- ENGINE THROTTLE B1214 M0MDK
DME - (170) AA Control-module self-test, engine throttle or internal fault (OBDII: P0601;EUIII: P0601) - Computer has
- Control-module self-test B1214_M0SGS
- DME main relay B1214_M0UBH

Like to know if replacing the throttle body helped, because dealer wants $500 Canadian +taxes which would be a bummer if it didn't solve the problem.

Thanks!

I just spoke to a dealer that said he had a customer with the evap and throttle errors. Said there was a leak in the evap system that caused the other code, so check the evap system for leaks first.

If anyone is interested, I had my throttle body replaced, and the problem is now solved.
