Has the volume knob been acting up recently? Ie, you start turning it but it doesn't really do what you want it to do.

 

this happened to me once too...in the middle of the highway...
got a big shock!

i remembered my fuel level was really low then...

Driving to work this morning listening to the radio when all of a sudden it turns up to full blast. Neither the volume control on the radio or the steering wheel works. All other controls seem to work normally. Turned it off and on a couple of times but this did not help.

Any ideas?

I have had absolutley no problems with it up until now.

 

thats wierd....but at least yours works lol mines stuck at a low volume and wont turn off cuz the knob is broke and spins freely

 

Checked it again at lunch time and its working normally now!

 

electronics on BMWs suck. so many random things like that happen. one day the display went out on the radio. it still played, but no display. turn it off and on. still no display. 1 day later... worked fine. Wasn't able to reproduce the issue at the BMW dealership.

luckily the cd-ejection broke. So i got a new CD player.
