Magnaflow 14816 vs 14815

I have a 2004 325ci and I want to put a Magnaflow but I'm indecisive on which one I should get, either the 14816 or 14815.
The difference are the tip sizes and shape. I like the 14816 which has 3.5in tips and a nicer look to it but I'm scared that the tips might be too big and I'd have to cut the bumper. The 14815 has 3in. tips but a much simpler style.
Can anyone help me out here???
Thanks

I just got a magnaflow universal that sounds great but is not one of the ones you mention. 14815 and 14816 are both single inlet dual outlet pipes FYI. I wanteddual inlet dual outlet and went with a different muffler that they offer to keep the flow like stock.

Mario,

No matter how I'm going to ignore answering your question, it's going to sound rude and unhelpful, so I might as well embrace that.

You have an '04. The muffler on my '99 is perfectly fine...it does all it's supposed to do. If yours isn't broke, I suggest, highly suggest, you find a place for your money where it'll make a difference. Don't tell me your car is perfect. I haven't seen it, but I know it isn't. How, you wonder, is that possible?

It's possible because I've been here much longer than you, have thousands of posts and obviously no life. Although I've written 14,000 posts, I've read many, many more. I know stuff.

Thus, for instance, I know that your air pressure isn't correct, that your cooling system will fail in 37 days at 7:43 a.m., that your ofhg is leaking, your valve cover is leaking, your PS lines are leaking, your refrigerant is low, your pulleys are bad as are your belts, you haven't even looked at your subframe, you need new plugs, your wiper blades are due for inserts, your left rear window regulator has about 3 days before it fails 100%, your battery is only putting out 60% of the amperage the car needs, you'll need proper brake pads, and finally, I think you kind of get a little excited when you polish your wheels, if you know what I mean?

Also, btw, I'm not a d!ck...that's Speedskter! I'm just old...really old. So old you really shouldn't take offense to what I've said because when I die tomorrow, you'll feel badly for a day or two if you say what you're thinking of saying!

Turn off your stereo, use the right pedal, and your car will sound great.

Too much, guys? :lmao:

Dmax, I'm sure you know a lot more about bmw than I do and obviously know more about this forum, but the idea I have for my car isn't quite a zip tie to hold my gps, in fact I don't even have a gps. You're right, my car does sound great but it will never sound great enough no matter how much money I put into it; and I won't turn off the stereo, I usually let the girls in the passenger seat deal with the radio since I will NEVER allow them to touch anything else on the car. Thanks for you undesired opinion on what not to do to my car, it was nice to interact with an e46Fanatic veteran.
Ps: I changed my brake pads last week.

Here's another undesired opinion of mine...

The exhaust system is basically our cars' colon...unwanted byproducts are processed and expelled. The action is going on in the engine; that's where the beautiful sounds emanate from.

Make your exhaust louder, you're drowning out the engine. What do you care more about, the taste of the food you eat, or the sounds you make when you relieve yourself? I know, not a perfect metaphor, but I thought I'd give it one more failed attempt just in case!

Peace brother...you know this is Fanatics...it's a large tent and I've very proud to be allowed to hold the rope for one of its corners! They won't let me in, but I can peek in and see what's up from time to time!

Let's sum this up. Everyone has an opinion, including me. My opinion to you Mario is to do you what you want. It's up to you. If you wanna hear a good comparison of stock vs. Magnaflow, click the link under my sig.

I am as well, lol. I was at the shop and picked out a pair that looked the best for what I wanted. I think they might be flowmaster... not sure though
