i must say, that engine look way too similair to the S62 but since u insisting .....:shhh:

anywayz,my point is, what happened to the rest of the GTR's? over 20 street versions were ever made and the only one that springs up on the net is this particular one which is in Dubai! anyone know or ever seen one?

The GTR motor is not an S62, its designation is P60. It has a flat oil pan with dry sump. Immediately behind the front dam are the water cooler (left) and oil cooler (right) at an oblique angle to each other.

This is an S62

This is what the engine bay of the factory built GTR looks like...

Granted, it is definitely possible the strassenversion LOOKS a little different than the actual race car, it is still the same P60 motor. BMW built the street cars for homologation purposes. If they put an s62 in it, it would defeat the purpose, as the car must be homologated with the same engine it will race with.

not to threadjack, but as long as we're looking at variations of M motors, here is what the regular 3.2L I6 looks like in race trim :)

As nice as it is....check the specs of the strassenversion.

It has less HP and a tiny bit less torque than the M3 CSL... The only advantage the GTR has is that it weighs maybe 80lbs less than the CSL. Its not any wider either.

€250,000??...I don't think so.

Not gonna lie though, it looks orgasmic. Anyone know where GTR part #'s can be obtained???

The specs released vary from source to source. Some out there will list 450bhp, some 350hp, and I've seen all different weights. The car has the same 500hp on tap that the regular GTR has, just requires some assistance in getting there. The interior shown in that link doesn't look right to me...original pics from the launch showed a bare bones, unfinished interior, with what was basically a box in the back seat area.

There WAS no CSL when they developed the GTR. They werent looking to appeal to customers for the street car. They only sold them to homologate the race car. I can't stress it enough that that is the ONLY reason the street cars were ever built. Much of the reason the GTR's were banned was questions over the legitimacy and number of the street car sold.

Man, I want that car.

shady, any more pics of the car in your sig?

Edit: found some :)
I have hundreds, let me know if you want more
