Hi Guys
Hope this finds you all well...
So i was starting to get lean codes again (9 months without them) and decided to change the DISA and Oil dip stick o-rings. The DISA had never been done in the 2 years I owned the car and the oil dipstick was the culprit last time. I stripped the car any way and changed the rings.. I cleaned up the DISA while I had it out and made sure it still held vacuum by turning the valve and covering the air bleed hole at the bottom. The flap moved about 20 degrees and then was held by the vacuum.
I replaced both 0-rings and re-assembled. Upon taking it for a test drive the car pulls smoothly to around 3500rpm but then it seems to lose power. This happens mainly under WOT, if I reduce the throttle to around 80% it seems to pull a lot better.. This seems to happen more in the higher gears but it is intermittent as sometimes it does pull fine under wot past 3500rpm.. I am not getting lean codes anymore in the 'current fault' state but there is still 'pending fault' lean codes.
I am wondering if an air leak can cause this. I ain't had these symptoms before when getting lean codes. Or can the DISA valve 'soft fail'? I find it more than a coincidence that since I serviced the DISA o-ring I am getting this issue as I understand the DISA operates at around 4000rpm's.
Any help or guidance as to what to do next would be greatly appreciated..
Thanks
