INPA Error: IFH-0009: No response from controlunit

So I got a K+DCAN cable and installed INPA so I could clear my airbag light, but whenever I try to go to the module in INPA I get an IFH-0009 error. Weirdly, I don't get this error for the engine, so I'm reading or clearing engine codes fine, just everything else errors. Mine is the type with the button to connect pins 7+8. I tested continuity with a multimeter, so the pins are definitely connected.

Is there anything I can try to make it work, or is my cable just a lemon?

See if you can access other modules, such as Instrument Cluster, MK20 ASC/DSC, Electronic Immobilization, etc.

No dice. I did some searching though, and I actually found your post about BMW Standard Tools, and yours was the first post I saw that mentioned that pre-07/2000 cars have the 20-pin under-hood connector. My car is 02/2000, and lo and behold, I've got one next to my DSC module. I ordered an adapter since I thought that seems likely to be the culprit.

Cool, glad my thread helped you with that. I didn't notice you had a 2000 323i (should have looked at your vehicle info!), or would have suggested that.
Yeah, get the adapter and you should be good.
