I just bought my 2000 328ci a few weeks ago and it has been making a high pitch whining noise whenever you start to accelerate. As soon as you let off the gas, the noise goes away and it never happens when idling. I used my code scanner and it told me chart 15, e4 which is "oxygen sensor adaption limit, Cyl #4-6." Do you think these two problems are in any way related?

I actually posted something similar a long tim back. The noise increased with rpms. It almost sounded like a charging high pitch sound. And by the way i dont have aftermarket intake. Anyway the noise just went away one day, which is probaly not the answer your looking for but as long as its gone i dont mind it. I have had a few weird noises that happen occasionally, especially on cold starts and cold weather. Anyway I hope it just disapears. Good luck

I just had that noise today LOL...I revved it high in third and then came up to a stoplight sounded like a constant beeeeeeeeeeeeeee.....really freaking loud, I thought it was a siren from far away but turns out it was my car...went over a speed bump and it went away I think my air intake just moved or something and made a loud whistle..I mean LOUD dude in front of me probably thought it was a super charger or something lol
