i kinda get that noise too, im taking mine to bmw to get it scanned tomorrow

I actually posted something similar a long tim back. The noise increased with rpms. It almost sounded like a charging high pitch sound. And by the way i dont have aftermarket intake. Anyway the noise just went away one day, which is probaly not the answer your looking for but as long as its gone i dont mind it. I have had a few weird noises that happen occasionally, especially on cold starts and cold weather. Anyway I hope it just disapears. Good luck

 

Maybe your car has CAI installed?? (really low % though...)

 

I just had that noise today LOL...I revved it high in third and then came up to a stoplight sounded like a constant beeeeeeeeeeeeeee.....really freaking loud, I thought it was a siren from far away but turns out it was my car...went over a speed bump and it went away I think my air intake just moved or something and made a loud whistle..I mean LOUD dude in front of me probably thought it was a super charger or something lol

 

I thought mine was the problem described in that thread linked above, but it wasn't. It WAS a loose baffle in my muffler. BMW replaced it for free because my car was CPO, the WHOLE exhaust from the cat, all the way back. Hope that helps.

Well I checked out that link and it sounds like that is the problem. There is huge crack in the hose that everyone is talking about. Luckily its a cheap part. Thanks for the help.

 

I had the same problem it turned out to be my waterpump/alternator idler pulley.

 

well mine was a cracked air intake boot
