You can try the key sync procedure in the car's owner's manual.

Ok ok...now that my remote works to lock and unlock the doors......it does not start the car????

Could I have cleared its memory some how?

The starting the engine is not a simple programming procedure. It has nothing to do with key sync procedure which is only for the remote keyless entry system.
If the key that does not start the engine is one of the car's original keys and the EWS module and DME modules were not replaced then it is likely that the key is bad or it was disabled in the EWS module. If it is a bad key then it is usually repairable.

No. That would not happen if you only did the key sync procedure because it has nothing to do with the starting of the engine (EWS--immobilizer system).

Can you repair a key like this? or just replace it with a new one from the dealer?

 

Call local locksmiths & ask for quote on matching key blade + pairing transponder. Your local hardware store can also clone the blade. Blanks on eBay are $20 each. You should be all set for about $100.
