I have a 2003 330i that I am troubleshooting a P0442 code that has popped up.

I found that my purge valve / fuel tank vent valve (located on the front of the engine, just underneath the intake manifold) is missing the connection/hose that leaves the part on the underside. I believe this is p/n 13907558190. I do not see any loose hoses hanging around the engine bay so I'm assuming it's missing (it may have been torn out and thrown away accidentally when I was replacing my starter - for the purpose of this post, let's assume its gone).

My question: where does this hose go? The realoem diagram is not super helpful as it shows it going to the vapor canister(?) and I'm not sure where that is either.

Image of the "purge valve" included for reference. it is the part with the electrical connector underneath the bar code sticker on the intake manifold.

It attaches underneath the intake manifold. See post #12 here...

In the first pic it is the open nipple above the brake booster line. In the second pic it is labeled on the left. You will need to remove your IM to get to that spot unless you have really small and flexible hands.

Good luck.
