Hey fanatics, kburger once again. 751,000 miles on the 2000 323ci. It's been quite an adventure to say the least. Anyone have a part number or link to a fuel pressure tester, current!, that will work on the e46 fuel rail schrader valve to do a pressure test. All threads have links to harbor freight test kits that are not in stock. And why doesnt anyone carry an adapter for that fuel rail port? I bought a harbor freight master test kit years ago only to discover now nothing in there fits it.

Thanks,

Kburger

Believe it or donut, a permanent gauge is a major failure point-
look up Bourdon tube gauge, and you'll see why. That tube is brass...

I have had to make up one using parts scrounged from the local
friendly bike shop's scrap parts pile- the cheap pumps have a short
screw- on hose that works really well mated to a small 100 psi gauge.

And yes, the Horror Fright sets don't all have it. D'oh.

Kudos to pointing this out.

Building my own and customer track cars. I love information (sensors/gauges) also love redundancy. However any system must NOT be a point of issue or potential failure. (See the guy with a direct wire ahmeter into the cockpit)

Most often the best for any such is a well placed sensor with it's mating gauge mounted inside. Albeit fuel pressure sensing is risky.

We now return you to your normally scheduled program.....

ok extremely frustrated here. Here are two pictures. One is shrader valve with cap next to it. second picture is the second fuel pressure kit i have purchased. There is no fitting that will work. it needs to depress the tiny valve inside the shrader valve. Any help is appreciated.
