looks like it will be a functional aid in your foggy climate. here I’d never really need it. i forget, did your euro car already have the switch with that (just not used)? you use same front fog switch and both front/rear now go on together? or you have to buy one with the added “rear” foglight setting?

 

If I'm not mistaken all EU cars have the switch for rear fogs on the faceplate, just that only the driver's side lamp is activated.

I had to buy a new faceplate for mine since no North America cars were equipped.

 

I have been trying to find a rear fog light automatic light lcm, every single one I find has manual lights, seems like Europe didn’t have very many automatic lights, anyone know if it’s possible to take the switches from the rear fogs and transplanted them to my auto LCM?

No, you just need to search carefully.
You're right though, they're not that common.

 

It is a common ground in the "housing" for the inner lights, I only needed the positive from the left side, and no there was no wire for the right side fog light. A more propper way is to buy a UK inner light housing and the connector to get a pin/wire instead of just drilling a hole in the housing where the bulb should sit and just solder a positive wire to it like I did.

 

As a counterpoint, I rather loathe those very bright (Volvo-Esque) foglamps. Ever been behind some a hole at a traffic light with those on? It sux.

If when truly used during periods of true fog, that's alright. Just please leave them off (though I do like the mod) when NOT needed.

 

I'd like to code mine to activate whenever the DSC light flashes...

What car do you have and what specifically are you wanting to add? Rear fogs? Dual rear fogs? Brake force display?

 

What is the purpose of fog lights in the back? Are they for parallel parking? You want to light up where you've already been?

 

To improve your visibility to cars behind you in bad conditions.

Around here, they're just another sign that
'vehicle has more capability than driver'

and now that the third brake light flashes for no good reason,
taillights are truly useless, just annoying.
