I wasn't a big fan of the lip spoiler, and after a little bit of modification I believe the MotorsportII e36 m3 wing fits quite nicely.

It kinda reminds me of the time a member took an e36 wing and slapped it on an e46.

In regards to the down-force, the wing is not flat it provides the same functionality on this car as it did on the e36m. It curves up in the rear at a greater degree than the lip spoiler. I'd be interested to see if its not actually a greater degree of downforce. Purely from a curiosity standpoint though. This was more a cosmetic enhancement than anything.

Sorry but I hate it. Completely messes up the lines of the car. Our cars are mean to be wingless, have a small lip spoiler, or have a CSL bootlid. That's it. Just my opinion, of course...
So what do you call the spoiler on the DTM Factory car? Its neither of the above 3 you mention. Not picking a fight just saying.

The trunk looks to be about 2 cm shorter per side than the e36 trunk. At least the spoiler mounting bits stick out 2 cm wider on each side.

Technically the e46 acs wing droops over the side as well, the 3 pc wing anyways does.

looking at the pic you provided OP, I too noticed the ACS badge but did not notice any ACS parts....what's up with that???

Also, regarding your MotorsportII e36 m3 wing.....not feeling it, but it's your car....sorry :thumbdwn:
As far as acs parts go, I have the pedals, lighted shift knob and ebrake handle. I had a set of acs type 2 rims but just sold them. My current bbs style 42 were missing, the center caps and I had the acs ones left over from the type 2 rims. The front and rear badges were sourced for my e36 ti project but they sent me ones for an e46 and since my BMW badges were faded a bit i put these on. The Emblem on the left side and the grill were because i already had all the other badges on the car.

For everyone that falls along the lines of to each their own, I appreciate that. Keep the opinions coming. Its no fun to do the same thing all the time. I just happen to like the look of it over the stock wing. I wouldn't mind a csl trunk-lid, but i didn't happen to have one of those lying around.

You probably wouldn't like my other cars as well as they have lots of parts from different cars. All work was done myself aside from body work and welding.

no they are all in mid stages. the Porsche just needs the painted and int cleaned. The ti needs the int put back in it and a repaint (but i don't want to do this till i get all the mechanical sorted (the s52 is actually just a transient swap to make sure the engine was running well, final engine is an s54).

Do like wings, one of the few. I don't like that particular wing even on e36's. I like the slightly bigger one that is sometimes called a double wing, because it has the lip and a wing over it first seen on e36's. For the e46 I like the hamman version of that wing, however it's $600 so I can't justify it. I also like the Vader seats of the e36 better with the ///M color leather strips on it.

If the wing sat flush it would be nice, why not get the OEM wing that came on e46's?
yes if you really want a wing there is the oem coupe. still not a fan of it on a M3 (and there is also the Clubsport which is too wild for my tastes) but maybe you'll like it.

I had a friend getting rid of a e36 m3 wing, and I wanted to see if it would work on my e46. I found this old thread and was not able to make a decision by the pictures (and the negative posts just were personal opinion, not a technical " it doesn't fit")
So I went over and got it. Checked to see if it would even bolt on, and got it to work. It like that it's a contrasting color, but prefer a darker silver.
