Do you have a float charger hooked up to the car? DIS will not work well if the car is depleting the battery, even .05 V will cause DIS to not read/write. In most cases the error message you get will have nothing to do with battery voltage, but it will simply not perform what you are asking.

 

No I do not. :| So it is not possible to code without that? How does it work? You connect that to a wall socket?

In my experience DIS v44 will usually read without a float charger but it will NOT code. Get a cheap float charger to maintain voltage at 13.8v constantly. Yes, you plug it into the wall outlet

 

Do you think that one of those professional chargers used by mechanics will do? I might be able to have access to one...

 

I am not sure about those, what I would use is a trickle/slow charger.

If you have both the 20 pin and 16 pin connectors in your car, the 16 pin connector can only access the engine modules.
You have to use the 20 pin connector to get to the EWS / LZB /ABS / DSC / IHKA / Radio etc.

 

So, Cable + Adapter to connect pin 7 & 8 + adapter for 20 pin? LOL

 

7&8 should not be required, but, for cars with the 20 pin DLC connector under the hood you definitely need the 16 to 20 pin adapter cable to communicate with all the other modules in the car.

Now i have another issue...
I'm trying to activate some Car Memory functions like Visual Acknowledgement When Locking/Unlocking, Auto-Locking, Recirculated Air Memory, etc... but when I reach the screen below I'm not able to get passed it... no matter what I do it keeps showing that screen. I've tried to turn ignition off/on and then press YES, I tried it with the ignition off, with the key in the 1 position... no success...
Can someone help?

 

Just use NCS Expert. It's a hell of a lot easier and faster.

Do you have the round port inside the engine bay? If you do then you cannot access all the modules through the obd port inside the car but you can access most of the modules if you hook up the computer through the round port inside the engine bay(ADS port). Coding ability on V57 is disabled. It is only available on V44.

Using DIS v44.

 

Just to confirm that with the 20 pin adapter I was able to activate everything I wanted using DIS and NCS Expert.

Here's what I coded/changed:

- OBC Active;
- Climate Control shows LO and HI instead of 16º (C) and 32º (C);
- Pressing unlock once unlocks driver's door, twice unlocks all doors;
- Automatic central locking after X Km/h;
- Automatic central locking is re-locked after 2m if the car is unlocked but no door is opened;
- Visual acknowledgement when Locking/Unlocking;
- Changed Oil Service from 25000Kms to 15000Kms (I do it every 15k so...);
- Fog lights also turn ON with "Follow Me Home";

How did you pass the switch ignition on screen in dis v44? I'm having that same problem also.

I only used DIS for BC activation, I did all the rest with NCS Expert.
