Crushed my Transmission pan running over a rock...

A few weeks ago I was on I95 at night and hit a rock that must have fallen off of a truck or something. It was pretty large, it went dead center under my car. It hit the aluminum cover so it did no damage to the oil pan, but it crushed my transmission pan (steptronic). It didnt spring any leaks, but obviously I am concerned about the internals. I know that filter must be affected. The pan is disformed to the point where it is warped over some of the trans pan bolts. I am surprised it didnt get ripped off.

Question is, should i just leave it and not worry about it, or should I go ahead and replace the pan/filter/fluid.

Car has 120K and i did the fluid/filter at 92K for the first time.

I have already put about 1000 miles on the car since this happened.

Yea, Im torn on this one. I already did the fluid change and all, but now that it is crushed inwards, the filter is obviously pinned up against the pan, it may have disloged and not be filtering effectively, there might be to much fluid or pressure now, because there is less space for the fluid to go... but the trans shifts perfectly.... and there are no leaks...

(and the service is a major PITA)

damn i wish you would had some pics so i can see the damages...if its as bad as you described it then i would say replace the pan...if its just the bottom part of the pan where the filter is then you should be able to replace that bottom half and it should be as simple as changing the filter...the whole pan comes right off.
