Hey just wanted some recommendations on shops around town that paint unpainted body kits.
Also, any good places that do installation for body kits, lighting or any other modifications.
There’s only so much I can do on my own. :)

Thanks

I dont doubt for a second that people will make mistakes, I was just speaking from a general perspective. You have to take the good with the bad. That dealership will see the most ACS, Mtech & Dinan body-kits by far. Im fairly sure if you check with people on Beyond.ca you will find some happy customer who could propably show you some pics. Just remember that regardless of were you decide to go... Make sure the worksmanship is to you satisfactory otherwise get them to do it again.

Good luck sir:thumbup:

If I'm paying a professional to do the work it should only be good - there should be no bad. If I was willing to accept mistakes I would have done the work myself. :lmao:

Ah, yes.... However that would be the same as saying that you do something specifc for a living/ career (your the proffesional) but you would never make a mistake!

I have always believed in aiming for success, not perfection. Why give up your right to be wrong? You will naturally lose the ability to learn new things and move forward with your life.

While everyone makes mistakes, a true professional will make every effort to correct them not hide them. Putting parts back on my car that they broke and hoping I won't notice is not being professional. You may be willing to accept that but doing so is just rewarding incompetence.

This is great feed back. I'm mostly concerned about the quality of the paint job and detail.
From what Ive read here, I take it Calgary Honda does a pretty good job for a good cost.
I dont want something that looks good striaght on, but then once you look at it at an angle, you can see a slight color difference in the light.
I have that issue with my rear bumper. Had it replaced cause a guy rear ended me last year.
I'm just wondering if its because there just isn't enough coats, cause the color is so close its not even noticable, unless you stand at that angle and look at it.

Your point is understood. I am merely rationalizing the situation based on the fact that perfection does not exsist.

I was not made aware by your original message that Calgary Honda attempted to hide there negligence. If that was the case then I would understand why you would be disgruntle and think twice about recommending Calgary Honda as your first choice in autobody work. Hence the reason I suggested previously that if your not happy with someones work, explain it to the shop and allow them the opportunity to correct it.

It is obvious that you left on a bad note with Calgary Honda...

Do you mind if I ask what the end result was when you pointed out the discrepancy with your bumper? Did they not fix it for you? Maybe I can help you with this situation.

Cheers,

Cheers,
As I said in post #12, they broke the tabs on both of my corner lights removing them to replace my headlights. They just put the broken lights back on without telling me. A few weeks later I noticed that my corner lights stuck out a bit so I pushed them back in. Every few weeks or so I had to push them back in. After a few months of this I finally decided to pull on them rather than push them back in and both corner lights came right out. That's when I noticed both locking tabs were cracked. I didn't bother complaining to them because it was a few months later and I figured they would just say that I broke them. I've since replaced them with clear corners.

The other problem was with my sideskirts when they installed my M-Tech kit. I noticed that they bowed out a bit in certain spots when I was washing the car a few days later. When I looked behind the bowed spots I could see the rivets weren't attached to the sideskirt. When I phoned them to complain they appologized and told me to make an appointment to have it fixed. By then I had already reinstalled it myself. What bothered me wasn't that the sideskirt wasn't installed properly but that the bodyshop manager said he inspected the work himself when I picked up the car. Either he was BS'ing me or he was careless in his inspection.

So the bottom line is I agree mistakes can be made. They had two opportunities to correct their mistakes and failed to do so on both occasions.

jm323Ci: They have a good paint shop so I think you will likely be happy with Calgary Honda. Just make sure to inspect their work closely when picking up your car. Look at every seam and detail. In addition to the above, I was missing 3 or 4 rivets and screws on my splash covers under the car after my body kit install. I know they were there when I took my car in because I had just changed my oil. Makes me wonder what else I haven't noticed.
