Battery vent hose/elbow size?

Hey guys, I recently decided I’d replace my battery after a few slow starts, and not wanting to risk getting stranded. I’m wanting to treat my old 330ci how it deserves so went for a Varta Blue UK:096 680CCA battery (Varta Link)and it now starts like a dream despite it being -10°C.
My problem begins when I put the new battery in, and notice the old battery is not being vented properly (or at all) and worse the elbow for the vent pipe is missing.
My question, if you’ve made it this far, is what diameter is the elbow adapter for the vent tube? Can’t seem to find an answer and I’ve got no way to accurately measure it. I saw a post where somebody recommended an 8mm which I bought and it’s way too big and I felt like an idiot. 😅 any comments/ advice as always appreciated.

A 15/64 drill bit fits nice and snug in the vent hole. You can use the 1/4" clear plastic tubing used for furnace humidifiers. Ice makers on your fridge, also use the same one. It fits in there nice and snug, with just a bit of pushing. Walmart also sells aquarium plastic hose kits and various fittings which could give you the elbows, etc, you're looking for. I believe many of the windshield washer line fittings are also 1/4 inch.
thanks for the advice, unfortunately I’m in lockdown here in Scotland so getting parts in person is a bit more difficult here. I was trying to find diameter to buy online. But aquarium hosing is a good suggestion should be cheaper and easier to order online.
