Hello e46 gurus!

I will be picking up a set of oem 18" style 67s staggered to install on my 2005 330i sedan.

Im not sure what tire sizes i should mount and if ill need spacers for them.. I have stock suspension, though the ride is low for stock IMO.

The wheel specs are:
Front 18 x 8 et 47mm
Rears 18 x 9 et 26mm

Ive seen in another forum a sedan with the same wheels mounting a 225/40/18 sized tire on the rears. Is that a tire stretch?

Any help would be tremendously appreciated. Thank you!

I just finished doing this to my sedan
245/40 out back and 225/45 up front
You will need to roll your rear fender. But you have to get all that sealer from behind the fender or the fendor won't roll flat (ask me how I know).
Im also waiting on my new shocks. I have 120,000 miles on my sport suspension. I rolled the fenders yesterday and didn't know about the dam gunk in there so now i have to get back in there and re roll.

I got a 325i non sport. On the rear i ran a 225/40 tire on the 18x9. it gives you a slight stretch and wont rub. the front will bolt right up with a 225/40 on the 18x8. but if you want to run coilovers the fronts wont fit without a spacer

I got my shocks in today and installed them. What a difference in handling and ride height. I have more clearance now. I took it for a spin around the block and it's way way better. Get a very little rub when going through a bump while cornering.
I'll post up more info tomorrow when I drive to work.

Thank you mcm1209, but i agree with michalt on the idea of stretching a 225/40/18 onto the rears. I've seen it done before on other e46 sedans posted on other threads on other forums.

And thank you for the picture michalt, that is the look i am going for haha.

Wheels are coming in in two weeks-ish! ill keep you guys posted!

so a 255/35 tire is technically smaller than a 225/40 ( in height and sidewall but of course width is more) i wander if a 255/35 would work on my coupe. using a tire calculator at least...that is what is telling me. a 245/35 tire provides the biggest difference

i wish i had unlimited money to throw at this. then i could start with the widest tire and work down until something worked. dont want to play the guessing game with my money.

maybe the 225/40 would be the get it over with option.

i am trying to find the thickest tire that wont rub cause i like thick tires but dont want to end up having to buy more than 1 set because the first didnt work. what i do know though is that anything above 225 width you have to go 35 profile. a 40 profile above 225 provides very little difference in tire size.

so its either a 225/40
235/35
245/35
or maybe a 255/35

Why don't you go to a used tire shop and tell them you will pay them to test fit tires on your car.
I have done that before and for $40 they mounted and unmounted 3 sets of tires for me until i knew what size I wanted. Then just buy you new tires or get them used.
But make sure all your other things are taken care of. Shocks roll fenders etc....

I decided to just get 225/40 in rear. What i really wanted was the rim style and sitting flush. That size should give me grip. And then i am done. Sucks i rolled fenders though for no reason. Dont think i would need it with 225/40

I'm running m3 rears all around on a 325i sedan. I rub in the rear mostly because of how low the car is, and secondly how screwed up streets are here. I'm running 235/40 18 Falken fk452. I will have the same size tire but brand new in about a week. Also need to roll/cut rear fender. Fronts are no problem, in fact I needed them to clear the coilovers. I'll take some pics after new tires are on.
