ZHP Bumper Fitment Issues

Guys,
I'm about to throw myself off a cliff! I'll spare you the boring details, but I have tried an aftermarket ZHP bumper and now an original BMW ZHP bumper on my 2004 330CI Convertible. Neither of the covers fit the curve of the factory bumper reinforcement. The OEM mesh grille hits the duct in the center of the bumper and the brake ducts don't line up. If you force the bumper cover to fit onto the reinforcement, it buckles slightly in the middle, same as the aftermarket cover. If you remove ALL the ducts, the cover still seems slightly too wide for the car. What am I missing????

A bit a polyester knowledge lol. When you leave a bumper off a car for too long it seem like they like to wide out. Because they are not been held in place n have the ability to release the tension i guess idk. Especially if left out in the weather mostly hot n the sun. In this case you grave a small strap from the end brakets n pull ends together to where you believe it will fit the best. Work better in hot weather n the sun out. Leave for a couple hour test again n ya good luck

Yes....brand new bumpers from Bimmerworld. The first was their replica, the second is supposed to be genuine BMW. I DID get it on and it matches up to the fenders pretty good. However, it still buckles up in the middle. I've used some straps to hold it firmly to the bumper support. I closed the hood and stuck some cardboard under the edge of the hood where it meets the bumper in the center. That forced the buckle back down. I'm hoping after a few days in that state that it will retain that shape. I can't get the center grille in. They sent me two "adapers", but using them causes the center duct to stick through the opening of the bumper and the adapter keep the bumper from sliding into the center duct. The brake ducts also don't seem to fit properly. Ideas?

I had a similar problem with an M3 bumper. I found that there were some tabs on the inside surrounding the center grill that prevented the bumper from sitting properly. After cutting those tabs off everything fit perfectly. If you post pictures of your bumper carrier and the inside of your bumper then I can tell you if it is the same problem I ran into.

The ZHPs that those bumpers came on had different ducts than the regular 325is and 330is, although the brake ducts are normally just a cosmetic thing and not a fitment problem, at least on the sedan/wagon. The M-Tech II aerodynamic package retrofit guide that I had found shows trimming the center duct back.

This is for sedan/touring, can't find the coupe version, but it's probably similar.

Now that's helpful, Vick!
