I did not know this but apparently a part of our car we all take for granted is an extremely RARE item. We are all apparently plopping our a$$es down every day on a piece of hard to find automotive gold!

Who knew that tan vinyl seats for an e46 were such a rare item? Mine must be even more so, since they are real leather. :)
Nothing serious here, I just got a laugh out of them being described as a "Very Rare" item. You may now go back to answering the important "What oil should I use" threads. I feel bad for distracting you from those burning questions with my silliness.

It actually looks like he has a natural brown interior which is less common than beige interior. Im not sure if its the lighting in pictues, but those rear seats are definately not in "very good shape". Either a bad dye job or someone has a sweaty ass.:lmao:

I thought it was natural brown too, but I think it is the lighting. It looks more like the regular tan in some of the pics. Either way, saying it is "Rare" is a stretch.

It's funny because they are leather and they are not tan. That is a natural brown interior. Much less common than a black, tan, or grey interior. Great thread.

They may be leather, I can't see the detail close enough to tell, but they are not natural brown. They are tan, that has had a bad dye job. Look at the passenger side bottom of the rear seat, and the dark splotches on the back of the drivers seat. No way these are factory natural brown, and no way that drivers seat had not had the cracks filled, unless this was driven by a 90lb woman for the last 6 years.

the shiny stuff to me just looks like someone wiped the seats over with a wet towel and took pictures before they dried.
It's hard to tell the condition of the leather with the quality of the pictures.

If those aren't natural brown then the previous owner put a hell of a lot of work into that two-tone interior to fool you craigslist users into thinking it is. But somehow I doubt that.

I'm pretty sure that one of the distinctions of Natural Brown vs Beige is all the black parts found on Natural: Door tops, plastic trim on seats, console. Aren't these color-matched on Beige cars? Also, for convertibles, the top compartment lid is black on models with Natural Brown interior.

They look like natural brown to me :dunno: maybe not "very rare" but they are rare. I thought natural brown usually came with black headliner but I might be wrong...If that's the case it looks like the guy in the ad installed these seats from another e46 and is now parting out. $400 is a pretty good price though, would be even better if they were sport seats.

I have a beige leather seat with broken seat heating grid. Also I sat in it for five years...extremely rare; one of a kind. It's available for local pickup for just $600 or best offer! Truly unique! Offer won't last long--this is a 7 of 10 seat, lovingly massaged with Leatherique oil and cleaner...just like the Ferraris get.

Anyway, it does have memory and lumbar, and it's so nice, I don't think anyone will notice it's not a brown sport seat. What d'ya say? Deal?

EDIT: nevermind.

what the seller did was put tan seat backs(where the net is) on natural brown seats.

So the seats look more tan than normal.

silly.

Still $400 for that set is not so bad provided they are also heated AND look better in person than the pictures show.
