Arch, I think you have a typo in the oil pans specs. For the 8.8 bolts you have a higher torque than the 10.9 bolts, and the imperial units don't work out.

My Bentley has 10nm/8.8 and 12nm/10.9 for the m6 bolts and 22nm/8.8 for the m8 (xi oil pan).

Still a discussion on the 2 different torque specs for the 8.8 and 10.9. I wonder if the 10.9 bolts are the 3 torx bolts from the trans bell housing to oil pan? If not, does anyone what would those torque specs be for those 3 lateral fasteners. :dunno:
The values Arch listed are strictly for the oil pan, depending on the bolt grade (embossed on the bolt head). For some reason Bentley doesn't list the transmission bolt torque under the RWD oil pan section, but does under the AWD section. They are:

M8 Allen: 24nm/17ft-lb
M8 Torx: 21nm/15ft-lb

I had the tranny bolt in the transmission section, lower in the guide. I added the relevant bolt to the oil pan section. Thanks!

Hah! I've been wearing a crease in my manual for the oil pan gasket job to gather a parts list. I let it go as long as I could. So didn't even think to look in the tranny section!

Thanks for the writeup! It'll come in handy no doubt. This job looks frikin crazy. Luckily I have another vehicle.
