Will 19x8.5 et35 (255/40/19) and 19x9.5 et45 (275/35/19) vmr v718's fit a 99 323i without a fender roll or spacers? I tried searching but couldn't find anything definitive.

From what i know, the offsets shouldnt be a problem. Buddy of mine fit a 19x8.5 et 40 // 19x9.5 et45 without any mods. But i think 275 would be rubbing..

Would it rub the strut or fender? In other words would I need a fender roll or a spacers? Any ideas? Thanks...

Most likely the fender, the offsets sound about correct, the outside of your tire would be lining the fender. Roll would definitely help, dont think spacers would be necessary.

You are within the recommended specs on the offset. We typically would recommend a 235/35/19 front and 255/30/19 rear tire. People have fit wider tires than these, however I can not guarantee you will not run into any rubbing issues.

Hmmm... I want to run 285's or wider in the rear next time I need to change tires. 9.5" wheels should support them but it sounds like I'd need a fender roll, right? Or would I need spacers? Or both?

You would most likely need some fender modification with a 285 tire! That's pretty wide!

I agree. But I was able to fit 255's with a good amount of clearance on stock fenders a long time ago, and now that im shaved, i feel i could fit 285's. Try a roll, and you could clear.
