Go ahead & do it, your only limiting factor will be the thickness of your current wheel spacers.

Side note: Don't expect standard type shocks/struts to last any length of time with the H&R Race Springs, because they won't. You want Bilstein or Koni: E46 Fronts / E36 Rears.

I have 10mm on my fronts with stock 17s and I drag fender liner only when turning out of a driveway.

P.s. If you're not racing look into the streetedge coilovers, there's a thread on here. Good for daily use etc.

As long as quality lowering springs & Bilsteins or Koni's are in the budget, they're a much higher quality proposition....
