Hi All,
Just got my E46 just joined e46 fanatics did some searching and could not find a solution for the problem im having.
First of all its an automatic and here is the problem im having, i only experience this at low speeds. It happens when i accelerate from say the lights, and i slow down - i get this wierd engine groan as soon as the revs go below 1k, if i put my foot on the gas it goes away. Its hard to explain almost as though the gears shifted to a higher gear but when i slow down or coast rather it doesnt downshift fast enough to keep up with speed.
And since i just got the car i dont know if this is normal or can this problem be fixed with some kind of gearbox software update?
Update: It seems to occur in some gears when the revs drop low due to slow speed - mostly during coasting
