My '99 316i 139808 miles, most problems fixed by PO, current problem: bushings failing cause of the bad roads.
But I have a friend (a girl) that owns an automatic E220 born in '03 as a taxi in Germany, pushing above 300k miles and its only problem is the automatic tranny, its slips a bit when going from second to third. Otherwise the car is fine
2000 323ci coupe, built in June 1999, 96k miles, 2 previous owners. We put new Bosch +4 plugs and a new fuel filter in last week; drives smooth, quiet and surprisingly fast - almost like a new car, in fact. Would like to keep it for about another 4 years / 50k miles.
I suspect the sunroof, frame less windows, and door seal (sounds like the door isn't shut properly at 65mph+) will be the undoing of this car/my wallet, not the engine.
I had a 1992 e30, my first bmw, i did just under 400 000km, 250 000miles, one engine rebuild, not becouse it was a dead loss, just wanted to get the power back in the old lady, when i sold her she was still pushing out factory specks, got 127 bhp from her. Would probably have gotten twice that if i kept her. Sweet
