Going to pick up an orbital buffer. I'm getting older and my elbow hurts when I wax my cars. And especially my van (minivans have a ridiculous amount of surface area).

A lot of these foam pads I see seem to be used for polishing. Like they have a certain "cutting" property to them. So which kind is just for laying down wax? Also, it's a 6" buffer so I'll need 6" pads.

I like Meguiar's- I get them from the autobody repair places. They're bigger, though- 6" velcro, at least 8" pad.

You want a 'final' pad- your supply place will know what to sell you.

I’ve given up the orbitals myself. Nowadays i just use one of the turtlewax spray products and call it a day. Seems to perform and last just as well as the karate kid-type waxes and you don’t have to be as careful with bare trim. I use the spray wax or seal n shine, whichever is on sale.
