MODS- dont move please, i need these tires by thursday and the W&T forum doesnt get enough traffic

Im keeping my stock M68 17" rims and need to get new tires. Ive mainly been looking at the S-03s and PS2's so far but im open to other suggestions.

And then for the size. I wanna run slighly wider tires if possible. Would 235s an 255s be doable? What height percentage do i want for each?

S-03 http://www.tirerack.com/tires/Sizes.jsp?make=Bridgestone&model=Potenza+S-03+Pole+Position

PS2 http://www.tirerack.com/tires/Sizes.jsp?make=Michelin&model=Pilot+Sport+PS2

i've seen a couple of people run 245s with no problem. don't know about the max width tho. 245/40's would look nice imo

A Suggestion

Have you looked at the Goodyear F1 GS-D3's, still rated #1 overall for Max Performance tire, PS2 and S0-3, two and three respectfully. The GS-D3 is quieter, not as stiff, great wet traction and wears longer. They have worked great for me so far, with some hard club rides miles. Check them out here if you haven't done so already: http://www.tirerack.com/tires/surveyresults/surveydisplay.jsp?type=MP

I stuck with 17's also and I'm currently running a staggered setup of 225/45 in the front and 245/40's in the rear (and it's alot of tire in the rear) with no "rubbing" issues. Just a suggestion.

Yep, I was just about to post about the GS-D3's. They seem to be the way to go since there about $100 cheaper.

Heya, I decided I liked your choice and got literally the same thing. Now though, do you get some crazy road noise at about 105mph? I think it's the air being trapped in the treads at that speed.

Well the only time ive gone over 80mph with these tires was at a track event with the windows down and helmets on doing 115mph. I did not notice it then, but then again the windows were down and i had a hemlet on...

Well alrighty, I don't think it's anything serious/concerning- just noise; there are no vibrations or pulling to either side.

Just as a mini review on the tire:
Ive got probably 1000 miles on them, a 2 day DE, and 1 auto-x.

The tires have incredible traction, especially in the rain. I cant beleive I ever lived with those conticraps. I really dont know what else to say but so far im very pleased/impressed. I beleive this is reffered as tramlining, but they like to follow grooves in the road more than my conticraps did, but its not bad.

Tires after day 1 DE:

Tires after day 2 DE:

The course(GIR) had a very fast banked turn(like nascar) to it so that probably caused alot of the wear...
