I have replaced 3 seperate wheel bearings on my 2001 325Ci within the past year (2 of them in the last 2 months).

Is this normal?

Someone mentioned potholes as the root cause for this issue - any suggestions?

Thanks.

Fronts or rears? Left or right?

If you changed the R or L rear 3 times, I'd say you were a victim of a bad part followed by bad installation on the next two. I'd say you are the victim of BMW's crappy parts spec. Have you taken a close look at your front control arm bushings and ball joints recently?

everytime when you replace brake pads, rotors, you will hear also repact wheel bearing. so what's that? is it just putting new layer of grease?

If you had excessive play in your front suspension due to worn bushing or control arms, that could cause excessive wear on your bearings. The slight vibration in the steering wheel overtime wore out the bearings.
