I read this thread and bought a Mann. Simple and inexpensive.

For what it's worth there was a noticeable difference in quality (at least on the surface) between the made in Mexico Mann and the made in Austria Mahle air filters I've used. Go for the Mahle every time, same price. In reality though any OEM filter will work fine.

I've had K&N on my last 5 cars. Never had a problem. Just bought my first BMW (2003 325i sport) and was going to get one for it too.
Unless some of you have had problems specific to BMWs?
