bemywhip I'll put money on it that you've never read a UOA in your life, in fact you have no idea what a UOA is? And yes I did own Krap & Nasty, it was on the car when purchased. It went in the bin where all Krap & Nasty should be unless your using them on a racing engine that's rebuilt regularly which is what they were originally designed for. They sure don't belong on a street engine!

UOA... well lets see youre from Australia right?... umm U of A thats a tuff one! Again... it comes down to cleaning, drying, and oiling it properly. You can run what ever you choose, I prefer K&N! My car purrs like a tiger each and everyday with it! BTW, drive safely, what for kangaroos, and keep a shrimp on the barbie for me. :D

German cars are designed for autobahn speeds so they've already figured out what type of filter is best for the car. These aftermarket intakes might give you more air but they also let in more dirt. Just stick with a clean paper filter. I put one of those CAI on my 350z once. It's an oily mess and you don't get any improvements. If you want that swoosh sound when you tap the accelerator then get one.

BTW going nuts... bmw go through about 1 liter per 1k mile of synthetic oil; however, the slight if any amount which comes off the filter wont just burn in the cylinder, it with make your engine EXPLODE. the concept is just genius. I bet all these posters are engineers to say the least!!!
