I knocked against a short wall (I couldn't see it!) at 10Km/h (6 mph) with my Kerscher front bumper! Unluckely the fiberglass is too breakable!
It can't absorbs the impacts as the original BMW bumper (BMW bumpers have a special system to absorb collisions up to 5mph without any damage).

So be careful with fiberglass bumpers!!!

Ack! Sorry to hear about your misfortune. Fiberglass is pretty tough to repair - some shops will use fiber matting and some fiberglass filler, but I feel that's kinda mickey mouse.

No, the Rieger one isn't made of fiberglass.

But it's not made of the the stuff OEM bumpers are either. (which is a somewhat bendable plastic) The Rieger is a harder plastic, and not nearly as fussy as fiberglass.
