Vendors - here's what I want to accomplish with this thread - there are people on here who are interested in determining what kits they can use and still pass OBDII-based emissions testing. For example, I'm in NY, and I don't "know a guy" so any upgrades would have to be compatible. Additionally, I'd like to list whether the kit would likely pass stock smog levels as well. I will start with what I know (or think I know!)...

330 / M54 Engine:

1: Factory DME / ECU controls throttle bodies and Idle Air Control. Standalone ECU controls fuel and spark, as well as things like VANOS. Factory DME also controls cluster?

As I put this together, I realize that there's a lot of unknowns in the table, hence why I need the vendors help to fill it in more...

Also if a moderator could help me figure out why there's so much blank space when putting in tables, that would be great, or suggest a workaround..thanks.

ALL ESS Twinscrew Stages have the following results:

OBD-II Complaint? Yes.
Will it pass emissions? Yes.
Factory ECU? Yes.
Control Strategy? MAF.

Will it even pass visual? 90% Yes if using OEM Airbox.

Thanks. Updating that now. Hopefully someone from ESS will confirm, but as you are a user of the stage 3 kit, you're also qualified to answer. ;-)

Bump.

I am going to say right away I have less info on the M3 then the 330 (I have a 330 so I'm more interested in that), but I've attempted to add some more info on for AA products.

Both of the TT turbos use a MAF and should pass the sniffer (depending on the limits) as they include a new cat.

All supercharger kits should pass the sniffer assuming cats are left in place or new cats installed if running headers.
