I am thinking of buying a used M3 should I consider a fanatic who might have tracked his car but probably took better care of it or a cpo who did minimum maintenance but probably never tracked or abused it?

hmmmmm.......I'd go w/ the cpo b/c although they didnt keep it up very well, it would be more expensive to fix anything that arose from tracking the car than it would be to fix some minor maintenance stuff.

I'd also go CPO, because alot of people baby their M3's. You may find one in great condition!

Neither, find a garage queen. Look at the number of M3 sales and the number of them on the road that you see everyday. There are a lot of garage queens out there. I would check your local BMWCCA classifieds, it's a good place to start.

CPO is a lot of money for a warranty.... Most M3s will still have a fair amount of warranty time on them.....
