We drive Bmws for their luxury and sport not for their convience and affordability.
My question is does anyone know whether there is a procedure for making a new to the car "automatic" Tranny compatible with my e46 after a Tranny swap and if so can it be done with INPA NCSexpert or Winkfp respectively. I believe the ews has locked the new Tranny out so I can't get outta 4th gear. My engine does turn over just the car doesn't go anywhere. My reason to suspecting the Ews has something to do with the fact that when I put the car in drive and reverse I can feel and hear a click happen in the little white ews box under the dash And I don't think that's normal.

Your transmission is in limp mode. Read and clear your transmission error codes.

EWS should not affect the transmission.

If you swapped in an automatic transmission from a manual, you have to code the EGS to your Vin and code the DME + ews + cluster for automatic transmission. So using ncs expert, you'll add $205
