It's pretty easy - all you gotta do is go to your nearest BMW dealership and request that they turn them off for you. If you live too far from a dealership and only go out there for service - then just request it when you for service - otherwise you should just be able (during service shop business hours) to drop by there and ask 'em to switch them off for you....easy to do. Why do you wanna turn 'em off anyways?

I asked the dealership and they told me that it involved reprogramming the computer. Said it would cost a bit.

I was hoping that there was a manual connection somewhere that I could block or bypass.

I think they look annoying!

Try going to a different dealership.... it's definetely something they can do pretty quickly. Wait till your next service appointment and tell them while your car is already there. They shouldn't charge you for that?
