Ok so when I bought the car I found what seems to be the trans range selector switch just sitting on floor of passenger seat. The car runs and drives fine. ( well now it does after extensive amounts of work on it) but my question is does the car NEED this Installed? O

Thanks. Now I'm really confused.
When installed on the transmission and properly adjusted it communicates with the EGS.

You state it's running fine.
I would have to believe that the trans light is on and you have transmission limp home:
Reverse and Forward in 4th gear only?

I don’t have trans light on. Runs through gears fine. Not in limp mode . So I’m stuck trying to figure if I even need it or not .i don’t even see a place where it would connect to.. also this is random but would u know if there’s a certain orientation for installing center support bearing? Thanks
