Wrong engine as is often the case. I've got N42

Lots of videos on the N42 and CCV replacement search. Not sure what you are asking about - how to replace it? Where to buy it? Where it is located in the engine?

I'm trying to find how to replace it in the TIS so as to get complete step by step instruction and establish if there's anything else I need. Youtube vids are shakey and just fly through and as this is the most complex work I'm going to undertake I'd like to be thorough.

OP, you have ro remember this is a USA website and that’s the focus here. We never got the 4-cylinder E46 models, so you are better off searching on Euro websites and in the UK regional forum.

Understood, but the original question was just 'are we allowed to discuss TIS?' I wasn't sure and didn't want to get a warning for starting a discussion if it was taboo.

I was looking on newtis.info for your 2003 318ci vert. Maybe the intake manifold removal section?

Thanks. I did see that on a page I found as a lead up to work that needs to be done prior but apparently what I was looking at was the wrong thing:
13 90 500 Replacing tank vent valve (N42 / N40)
Just bugs me that I can never find the info I need. Not sure if it's me using it wrong but at the same time other people have said they'd help and they can't find it.
