haha, i got pulled over again for no front plate and window tint...
the cop was like do you know why i pulled you over and iwas like no, and he told me those two things, my excuses were someone stole my plate holder and i got the tint done at school in NC... and told me it was illegal in nj which i knew...
anyway, i gave my license, regis, insur, and family member PBA card thing(my uncle is a JCPD), he went back to his car to check my record and came back and let me go...
the funny thing is i get all scrared when the cop drives by now... hahaha just watned to share...

it wasnt the regular PBA card, its a gold plated card that says Family Member and my name, his name and other info, this card got me out of a few tickets,(speeding, plate...) :thumbup:

i dont think the cops look at the reflectors really, im gonna try to get an actual shield thingy that you put on your windshield from my uncle...

PBA card means you have donated.

Card with gold sheild means a) you have donated A LOT or b) you're a relative of a high ranking officer.

About 6 years ago my high school buddy and I were rolling in his e36 M3. He was tailing someone bad when we drove right by a cop. He pulled us over and approached the car. When he saw the shield and confirmed the owner by examining the card he apologized for the inconvience, told my boy not to tail people like that and offered us an escort to where we were going because he had made us late.

Long story short, the golden shield is the shit! Get it.

Holy crap, an escort? That is awesome! I've never heard of PBA, but I know here in VA we have the FOP (Fraternal Order of Police). I used to have a sticker on my old truck that showed that my parents donated to the local county sherrif's department, but never got pulled over to test it out!

I'm going to have to look into this FOP or PBA card...:mischief:

I'm looking into getting my folks to donate for the PBA card (I figure it's tax deductible, so why not)....is there one in California...and how can we donate?? Although the last thing I want to do is give money to the A*SS hole California cops, I figure if I can get out of speeding tickets and front plate tix...It'll be worth it.
Are we talking about few thousand dollars for donation??

i was recently pulled over in NJ for tint ($40 ticket). while he had me pulled over he pointed out all the other mods that made the car 'illegal'. he was pretty thorough but he didn't mention my lack of any amber side markers.

i get pulled over about 5 times a year for various little things. i have found cops treat me much nicer if i follow a few rules an FBI friend of mine told me once:

1. pull over as soon as possible, they hate when you don't notice them behind you right away.
2. try to pull over somewhere that makes it safe for them to get out of their car, but make sure you do it quickly.
3. be honest. these guys hear all kinds of stupid excuses everyday.
4. if at night, turn your interior lights on
5. when they approach the car, put your hands on the steering wheel where they can see them

Nice. The cards don't always work, however. Sometimes they just don't care and will give you a ticket anyways. Oh, and your sig is way too wide as well.

chris_bmw330ci, was that a state police or local police that pulled you over? seems like state police wont really give a damn unless you get caught speeding or something...
