I have two led's out on my third brake light. The indicator light is on on the dash. There are only two wires going to the third brake light unit. How does the dash light fault indicator detect a fault with only two wires going to the unit?

Are you sure the indicator is for your center brake lamp? Mine has not been working for some time (even replaced with a new one) and I've never had an indicator.

the yellow circle with a line on each side of it lit up on dask . That is the one that indicates a bulb somewhere on car is out right?
